It's a Dark World, After All
Black
the color of death
surrounds me.
My eyes
covered with an umbrella
of dark shadows
linger away from the dreaded dress.
Newly ironed and never worn
but still carries a dull look.
The calm grave
has a strong power of its own.
A casket
waiting for its ticket to paradise.
My chills
swim in a pool of goose bumps.
The tears shed
with a feeling of belonging
to their friends.
Like a baby
drinking his mother’s milk.
Sobs.
Crying in grief
until your throat turns dry.
A flaming yellow ball of fire emerges.
It shines
and takes me to wonderland.
I am skipping
in a meadow
filled with bright flowers.
My hair
slapping me in the face.
I am sliding down a rainbow
with gold trickling down my spine
instead of rain.
Lightning brings undesired light.
It brings back grief.
The bellowing
of thunder
chases a human’s soul.
It pounds on its drum
forgetting about the people
who flinch every now and then
wondering what kind of sound will come next.
I am back in reality.
This time
a world of sorrow.
