Walking Alone, Still
I'm right there when you need me,
I've been here all along,
just hiding in the shadows,
the place where I belong.
And when that girl came 'round,
I watched our friendship die.
But when she broke your heart,
I stood still by your side.
One day you crosses the boundary,
into the world I've been hoping for.
and kissed me with such passion,
I just couldn't ask for more.
Too bad it changed our friendship,
even though I held myself back.
For you it was just too much,
there was something that I lacked.
So now you left me sulking,
to walk our streets alone.
Though without our shadows kissing,
I'm left to face the unknown.
And I know right now I'm angry,
you've left me with such hurt.
I fear I cannot take it,
it was better when we'd flirt.
But I'll always be right here,
I've been right here all along.
Just hiding in the shadows,
the place where I belong.
