I Was, I Am
I was fire in a forest
I am a flickering candle flame
I was the forgotten piece in the box
I am the player in the game
I was the wind, destined to die
I am the river, I will never run dry
I was the child with nothing to hide
I am the adult, with so many lies
I was the laughter, chasing problems away
I am the rock, where life chooses to stay
I was the young puppy, forever playing games
I am the old dog, too tired, so tame.
I was ashamed of my past, my life
I am ready to shine through the lies
