"Our Garden"
Looking far beneath
These city streets
To see if I can find something that’s not so hard as concrete
Not so hard as your heart
Trying to find the grass and dirt
So I can dig up my love and soul
I gave them to you because you said
That you would plant them in our garden
And that they would grow between us
Into something beautiful and gorgeous
But what you did instead this May
You killed them and buried them in their grave
Yes there were tears
But how else were we going to water them?
There was also love this summer between us
But now that’s all gone and while it’s sunny and warm outside
I am frozen and cold on the inside
While it should be May
I feel like December
