When we’re together, we’re constantly fencing.
Watching each other; dangerous dancing.
Hammering back and forth like masons;
But instead of building, we’re breaking.

I’m hurt by your steel words, and I try to parry the blows;
I fight back, thrusting my foil, but I’m too slow.
I wear armor; I don’t let you break through;
But I can’t keep myself from coming back to you,
Bloodied and broken.

seriously whoever gets on here every day and posts 1 out of 5 stars, you have no life.  Cut it out, I don't care about your opinion if you don't post a comment.

Thanks, Intrepid.  Always nice hearing from you!  I actually need to get more on-the-ball with writing poetry, this was the last one I've written since...  whenever I wrote this one.

Writers are a less dangerous version of the career criminal. Everywhere they go, they see the potential for the perfect crime. The difference is that writers have better self control.

I like the imagery. I really like the first line of the second stanza. Lovely piece of work.
