Dreams
The sun sets
Beneath my tired eyes.
My eyelids drop, blocking out
The waking world.
My dreams,
They start up, like a
Black and white film.
The star comes
Onto the screen
Of my mind.
It’s me, being chased
By my worst nightmare.
It comes closer, closer.
The horrible jaws snap!
And then I wake,
Wrapped in a cocoon of
Suffocating blankets.
They strangle me,
Choking the dream
Out of me.
