Through The Looking Glass
He reached towards the glass
Cool to the touch.
This was his only chance
No other would ever come.
He paused, took a breath
Then through the glass he went.
He landed on the other side
The world fought hard against him
As it tried to force him back
But he could not go
He would not go
Back beyond the glass.
So he pushed forward
To the girl
Seen only through the glass
Hair flowing, eyes sparkling
Begging for him to love her
To be saved from the world
Behind the glass.
He finally found her
Calling her name
As she disappeared
Into the mist.
Then he awoke
Safe in his bed
Facing the mirror
And there she stood
Waiting.
Fingers against the glass
