A Dark Beauty
The sky turns gray
The clouds go dark
It seems everything has gone to sleep
Never to wake again
The greenness leaves the grass
The trees sulk
Then comes the wind and the rain
They fly along, putting new life into things
Making the grass sparkle, and the trees full of life and song
The darkness encloses everything, lulling you to sleep
The leaves dance in a giddy whirl
As if trying to taste the magic and power of the wind
Thunder and lightning send a shock through everything
In a desperate attempt to silence it.
