That One Single Day
That day is coming up.
Why did I let go?
I guess we just didn’t flow.
I wish you knew,
How much I cared about you.
I got that message in 3rd hour English,
My heart dropped—
It shattered,
My eye’s filled up with tears.
I never thought this day would come,
At least not so soon.
Deep down, I knew it was true.
You always had a smile, but
That didn’t mean much.
That very day—
That one single day—
Affected my life.
A best friend,
A go-to guy when I needed a good laugh,
Had passed.
I love you and always will—
Those memories stay still.
Everyday without you
Hurts me more,
But it’s one day closer that I will see you again.
