My Companion
Cute nicknames, and black button eyes.
Sewn on arms, but a real heart inside.
They're filled with the stuff that makes you smile.
Their faux fur absorbs an abundance of tears, from sorrowful nights of yesteryear.
Consisting of love, and happiness too.
Contained in your arms, but clinging on tight.
He'll always be there for you.
I love the bald spot, right next to his ear,
where an ignorant young me stuck a wet peppermint.
The faint scent will never disappear.
Security blankets are for the insecure.
I'm secure...but not without my teddy bear!

"The books that help you most are those which make you think that most. The hardest way of learning is that of easy reading; but a great book that comes from a great thinker is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and beauty."
