Elegy
Seeing you walk would liven my gait,
Seeing your smile would make my heart jump,
You being with me would make me complete.
You walked away, deflating my bounce.
Your smile faded, stopping my heart.
You leaving me left an unfillable hole.
Not keeping your pace slows me to a trudge.
Without your smile my heart pines.
Without you, my life lay in pieces.
I plod through the streets,
A smile far from my lips;
This chasm echoes murmurs of the past.
