For the Disabled Artist From: An Understanding Viewer
For the Disabled Artist
From: An Understanding Viewer
Angry splotches of blue
Slapped onto a canvas
The gritty dust of life—
Thrown into my eyes
The crescent lines drawn lightly
My legacy left to remember
My name engraved in the minds of the people
The colors….dim…..unmixable
Like me
I don’t blend
And as the artist, I hold the eye
But it’s hard to look at
But you stare because I have no quality
And you blink but all remains the same
Because I am different
And you don’t understand
So these splotches soak onto the canvas
And drain my fresh life
