In the Breaking, They Heard Goodbye
She looks down at the broken glass
And blocks out the memories of her past
She said, "You promised, you'd never let yourself lose control"
He replies, "No, I promised I'd never let you go
But it doesn't matter anymore, you're not mine"
And with that, he walks away, one step at a time
They were too young, to love-struck, to immature
They were like fire, burned bright, and ever so sure
Then they hit ice, the melted water put out their flame
Confessions of betrayals, both shared the blame
And so, she replies, even though he's long gone
"I used to be," then she starts to move on
