Forever in Peace
I step out of the door of darkness
And onto the threshold of light
Into the huge, open world
The wind hits me like a ton of bricks
That explode into feathers on impact
And fly off like sparks or butterflies
Whipping my hair behind my shoulders
Caressing my cheek like a mother’s gentle touch
And playfully dancing across my lips
The breeze seems to blow into my soul
And sunlight follows, shining through
Even the darkest corners are reached
And the wind blows the dust away
My eyes open
And the endless possibilities
Unlimited in the vastness of the blue sky
I take a step forward in the journey of life
Staring skyward, into the heavens
With the sun winking at me, and the clouds blanketing me
Like a wispy bed that I can stretch out on
And float wistfully, forever in peace
