To write love on her arms is to make the pain stop.
To write love on her arms is to remind her of all the good things.
To write love on her arms...
isn't enough.
Because even the strongest of ink won't make the pain go away.
To write love on her arms keeps her from cutting, yes.
But it doesn't keep her from wanting to.
So write love on her arms thinking it will make her change.
What they have forgotten is to stop cutting and to still want to are not the same things.
Take it from someone who knows.
So write love on her arms,
but remember...
ink is only temporary.

"To Write Love On Her Arms" is an organization that helps teens that have cut themselves, and I fully support it. But they need to do more to prevent it.

I had never heard of this organization but now that I have I think I might check it out. I have several friends struggling with this issue and they could use some of the extra help... good work!

Check out my stuff sometime?

I'm a strong supporter of TWLOHA, and their mission is not only to "stop the bleeding," or cutting/any other form of self injury, but to urge people who are suffering to seek help from not only their addictions, but the hardships that fuel them. I know that the TWLOHA community, particularly the facebook group which is arguably the central community support place, tend to focus very much on cutting itself, but as for the actual people that the organization is composed of, their goal stretches far beyond just self injury. I did enjoy your perspective, though.
