A year well spent
I feel like it was all a dream
I’m pulling, tearing at the seam
I feel like it was all a dream
I rub the smudges from my eyes
I’m ripping at the veil, the screen
I feel like it was all a dream
These dreamy streets are lined with lights
They jump, they spin, they dance like mad
Best damn dream I ever had
I try to stand, to plant my feet
I’m grabbing at the trees, the green
Just not ready to admit defeat
I feel like it was all a dream
I’m frantically trying to concrete
Where oh where have gone my feet?
Oh please! I can’t admit defeat!
Reality’s tearing at my soul
These candied dreams have taken their toll
I scratch at them with my shovel and rake
God, please don’t let me wake!
