"And neither the angels in heaven above,Nor the demons down under the sea,Can ever dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee
...Of my darling-my darling-my life and my bride. In the sepulchre there by the sea."

-Edgar Allen Poe

Fly Away
Battered wings
Scarred
And holes within.
Let the wind kiss your skin
And help keep those battered wings
Aloft.
But the holes within,
Bring you down,
Sucking you into a vortex.
Where you're lost
And alone.
Those battered wings,
Fight the gravity
Sucking you in.
Battered Wings
That flap frantically.
And the battered heart beating rapidly.
To fly away
From all that batters your wings
All that scars your wings
All the bullets of pain
Marring holes in your wings.
Wings,
That are fight to lift,
A darkened soul.
Dark with pain.
Dark with guilt.
Dark with regret.
Dark with fear.
Dark as your wings.
Turning from Black
To Purple
As it flies closer to the moon.
Marred with holes like your wings.
Wings that flap rapidly
Like your heart beating frantically.
Causing you to lose your breath.
Preventing oxygen from entering your lungs.
Making your heart slow down
With Death slowly creeping in.
Fly,
The wind whispers on your skin.
Fly,
Battered wings,
Don't let me die.
Just fly me to the moon.
Just help me fly away.
Fly,
Battered wings.
Fly.

This peice is about mistakes. .that keep us from flying..when we lose ourselves..but even with mars and scars and holes on those battered wings of ours...we could still have that strength to fly away from the darkness that slowly creeps into our soul with all the pain life throws at us.. but even with those battered wings we can fly away to the moon that shines..we jus gotta keep them flapping..and I'm still flapping and trying to get to that moon..whether its me that helps myself a guy doesn't matter so long as i can fly.
