Well Manoeuvred
Oh how sweet was well manoeuvred revenge,
That silky taste is tasted in my heart, tumble,
Enemy mine, descend!
What a dangerous throne: no more. Power is flown.
My breath rose and fell as the acid that for your skin I keep,
The heat of my anger fuelled a fire
That drove my hands as they fill the gaping mouth of the deed.
And my prize flew, from your smouldering stomach, to the drumming inside me.
Humiliation – it was salty spittle,
But how quickly the golden honey washed it afar,
Saccharine, candied, I love it a little,
Then I love it a lot, then I love it beyond anything.
Strike back, always bite the biter;
How to describe it, I think I’ll do it again,
To those in the summer, and those in the winter:
Oh how sweet is well manoeuvred revenge.
