Slave
I can see the struggle in her eyes;
The despair
A woman who wants so badly to
Keep going
Yet she can’t
Tortured every day
Same old,
Same old
Why can’t I help her?
She’s such a beautiful woman
And I can tell that she’s strong
But she just can’t go on
The pit of my stomach churns
She gets hit again
And yelled at
Order after order
Command after command
She can’t believe the place she’s in
It’s hard for me to understand
I just can’t seem to comprehend
As a tear rolls down her cheek,
One drops off my chin
I stare,
And she stares back
I’m only eight years old.
