All Rose and Gold
It was an odd and interesting bonus
That he would be so much for what I was looking for
A lovely man he was
All rose and gold,
With creamy skin,
A fine lanky figure.
Studying him with an artist's eye-
A classic oval face,
a mouth that was soft, unpainted.
Pale brown eyes that tended to dream.
Hair that held quiet fire-
thick, slippery hair that often escaped my mere finger tips
Physically he was perfect,
That soft luminous beauty,
The simple grace
And quiet manner
But beneath the thin shell,
In contrast to that simple beauty,
Was a remoteness...a sadness.
Complexities, I thought
Allowing the rain to slap my cheeks.
I enjoyed nothing better than contrasts and complexities-
Puzzles to be solved.
What had put that haunted look in his eyes,
That defensive coolness in his graceful manner.
It would be interesting to find out.
