Surrender?
We suffered the torture
Of defeat today.
A blow to our pride,
To our confidence ,
To our very souls
But our hope remains strong,
Our defences ready and
Our weapons baying for blood.
For a mere loss
Will not be the end of us.
We will hold onto those
Far away days,
And unsuspecting futures.
We will best our foes,
Whether they
Oppose us intentionally
Or are simply limiters
To our success.
We will rise
And defy a world
That said we couldn’t.
We will have faith
In ourselves and each other
And see potential the world is blind to.
A blindness born from
A plague of ignorance.
So celebrate current victors
You will soon have precious little reason to.
For we know not the meaning of
“Surrender”
It is our sole inability.
