My Sanctuary
As the day cries
And midnight falls
All life becomes quite wary.
The curtain drops
And twilight calls
I run to my sanctuary.
This I cherish,
Above all other,
Escaping from the secrets.
I hold it close,
Like a mother,
To whom I owe all past debts.
Deep in forest,
Within the jade,
I hear the helpless wailing.
They howl for hope,
They ache for aid,
I feel that I am failing.
They have suffered
No hope, no home,
No love, no-one to worry.
With this knowledge.
I take their hands,
And lead them to my sanctuary
