Broken
A room filled with picture of happy memories
Bright colors arranged with a simple ease
Ghosts of whispering laughter echoing off the walls
A mirror with positive thoughts standing tall
Here sits a teenage girl with a tear streaked face
No one can tell its happiness she fakes
A broken picture of those she loved on the floor
Holding a sliced hand as the blood spills more
Through her head dances her life’s regrets
Filled with pain she will never forget
A prayer slides out from her trembling lips
A glimmer of hope in this world she’d rather slip
‘Please, give me strength’ she repeats over and over
Hoping that finally she may be sober.
