God, Won't You Make It Rain?
voices, voices, abundance of words,
they mean so much
and yet mean nothing at all.
i remeber the days when my smile was bright,
when myself was shining wholly,
and then a longing stirs in my heart.
i remember when there was nothing to figure out.
when they all believed in me.
its dry, its lonely, its barren.
let it sprinkle, let it pour down, so i can catch it on my tongue.
so i can jump and splash in the puddles.
so i can throw away my umbrella forever.
so i can dance and sing like no one is watching.
let me realize what its like for my hair, my clothes,
to be soaking wet and still not care.
let me feel the comfort, the lack of insecurities.
let me feel the overpowerment, the awe of You.
God, wont you do me a favor,
meet me in the rain.
sit with me on the sidewalk, hold my hand,
tell me everything will be ok.
wash away everyone and themselves.
wash away everything and its pain.
wash away myself, make me clean.
Dear God, just take away the pain.
Dear God, wont You make it rain?
