Wishful Thinking
A clever rhyme can’t sow the time, this shattered window’s destroyed
There is no way to make her stay, my battle schemes deployed
And if I cling on to the thought, a feeling that is so true
Ill fail at the attempt to love I sought, and probably be more blue
So I strike a match to watch it burn, and think of time well wasted
As I sow this patch to live and learn, and think of love I tasted
But if every night was like this one, there would be no driving power
It’s the good times after the bad are done, that sweeten up the sour
So I don’t let bad break-ups bring me down, there’s a calm after every harsh storm
In time something better will come around, and once again my heart will be warm
