Strings
Strings,
You’ve got my limbs tied to thick white strings,
And you’re pulling them around,
You force my tumbling body to the beat of this dance,
This awkward romance,
Or is it that at all?
It’s amazing how thick they’ve become,
Your little white lies,
And how you’ve got me believing them
I’m trying, trying, trying,
I have the scissors in my hand,
I can almost sever these ties, almost,
But I can’t,
I won’t, don’t want to, don’t need to,
I’ll just stay tied up.
Because I like you,
And this dance I can live with,
I just wish I was a person not a puppet.
