Hyco Lake; 1992
In a mid-summer afternoon,
she first saw him then.
Coming out of the woods,
a camouflage man.
"He's the most good-looking
man that I've ever seen,"
she thought.
She was there to ski on
those mirror blue waters.
He was there to hunt through those never ending forests.
He told her his name was
James, but that everyone
called him Jim.
He was 32,
a mere 7 years older
than she.
They meshed into each
other's separate worlds;
from two different backgrounds.
Spending their night together,
sitting by the cackling fire,
they got to know each other.
At a glance, you would think
that these two different people
were perfect for each other.
But soon enough, instead
of their worlds meshing,
they collided and everything
fell through.
He went hunting somewhere else,
and she's now looking
for another place to ski.
