Angel
I remember when I kissed an angel
My angel
How he took my breath away
Underneath a dark blanketed sky
With Christmas lights guiding our way.
I remember when my angel and I met the devil
On that new years day
I watched the devil steal my angel
And I helped lead the way
Further down my angel sunk
And I was the weight tied around his ankle.
No longer can I see my angel
He’s gone away
In the clutches of the sin I lead him to
He resides in the arms of a stranger
When he should desire the arms of a savior not too far away
I have completely lost my angel
But one of these days he may again grow wings
Flying straight into the arms of another angel
Who will reverse the harm I have caused him
And I?
I search for another angel
One I will do better by this time.
