For the longest time
we would hold hands
wherever we went
showing everyone
how happy we were
yet one day
your hand sipped from mine
i reached back
to grab your hand
only to find you
holding hands with another
what had happened
who was this other
i tried to ask
but you were already walking away
hand in hand
leaving me there
empty handed
wondering what went wrong
