Death of Happiness
In the silent night we stand side by side
Connected in mutual defiance of the world
Our feet are heavy, our hope has died
Just a boy and a girl
On its own accord my hand moves
To touch my partner in sorrow
Instead of finding solid, it goes right through
The air which is empty and hollow
The last reserve I have in me
Crumbles and withers away
The tears I am holding break free
And down my cheek they stray
I let out a scream that is lost in the wind
And throw myself to the ground
Clutching the pieces of a heart that won’t mend
I wait, alone, to be found.
