Masked
Glittering eyes, full of smiles
No sign of the tears never scream out my fears
I fought against the mask for so long but no
Longer will I fight
Fake a smile and live in denial, this I
Can manage and not do wrong
Sit still and proper not make a sound
I have mastered this
Never letting my true colors thru
Call me a doll that lives behind doors
Always wearing the mask, you conjured up for me
This mask is now a part of me, my skin growing into it both becoming one
Inside I know the truth, feel the lies and heartbreak
Life for me with you is like a puppet and its puppeteer
You tell my stories for me never do I truly speak
My words never the ones I have to say
I am the perfect daughter you falsely made everything you crafted
Own not only my body but also soul
Waiting for the day to tell my own story
