Somehow
They say the past is the past
And the present is now.
If this is true,
Then why does my heart and soul
Seek Going back somehow?
Regret stings with insolence,
And the pain of yesterday.
What does this mean?
If only I'd stayed...
I had it all right.
But now it's all too wrong
I used to be brave
Maybe a coward is whom I belong.
Where is the magic?
The fire and ice
To think I once possessed such things
Is more than most
Can call suffice.
They say the past is the past
And the present is now.
Perhaps eventually I can manage
To piece together an efficient life
Somehow.
