London Bridge
I was an empty gap of nothingness.
An empty space waiting for rushing water.
To break barren barriers,
wanting to build my life around structure.
Piece by piece, nail by nail.
Now strong, built of steel.
Masses use me as a guide.
Collapsing under the stress,
for I am only human.
The wind pushes and pulls,
as I try to support all,
swaying, gasping to escape.
These moments of reliance crack me,
metal against metal.
Screeching needing to break.
Pavement crumbling.
Falling, falling.
I am free.
I will be remembered.
My foundation known by future generations,
to create bigger and better opportunities.
