Bright colors fall to November’s chill.
Flaked flowing leaves
pile with crisp excitement.
Reds, yellows, oranges
line up in snowflake patterns.

With each drifting figure.
Chanters with cold hearts
rake up shoveled emotions,
as red cheeks wait for April’s warmth.
