Peace
Gentle sway underfoot
Moving oh so slowly
Without any effort
My wings safely tucked in
Eyes closed most restfully
Breezes ruffle feathers
Pine scent sharp in the air
Crackles in the distance
Complete serenity
And thus
No longer shall I fly
For I have come to rest
Upon this peaceful ice
Perched on this ice I see
Winter’s pow’r swiftly wanes
Yet matters not to me
I cast off all worries
Feeling no needless woe
Waiting for life’s release
I’ve become safe and sound
Seeking peace no longer
Since what’s lost now is found.
