Our time is gone like sand
The clock chimes and the sands run out
Time claws through my heart savagely
The memories clear, now ravished
Our time was cut short by distance
I remember her pulling him from me
He never returns to this place
His picture sits beside my desk untouched
I wait for him to return, knowing it’s in vain
My heart filled with longing, I search for him
If I could turn back the clock I would
But our time has expired like the sands
All I can do is let him rest in my heart
