I'll just sit

I’ll just sit,

Shoulders hunched,

Arms tightly wrapped around my legs,

Chin pressed into my knee,

Tilted towards the window frame,

Trying to see,

Make the image clear,

But the rain is still pouring,

Still exploding on the pavement into tiny ripples,

Heavy, then slightly lighter to a drizzle,

I can almost see,

But now it’s coming down hard again,

The picture blurring in and out of focus,

Never a steady image,

But it’s alright,

I’ll just sit.
