Etch-a-Sketch

Thud, bounce, boom, crash; go the
thoughts in my head.
They are energizer bunnies,
going on and on.
They are the ocean waves
thrashing rhythmically.
With all the activity, you'd
think there would be some variety.
Of course not- It's the same
idea wearing different disguises.
You smiling at me; your eyes.
Supposed to be thinking about
planes, angles, lines.
But the only line that matters is
one that connects me to you.
Too bad my brain isn't
an etch-a-sketch.
