Ashes
Winter consumed the air
like blood inside the body
We stood there peering at each other
through the orange of the flame
Burning the words, by which you blame
And as I looked I wondered
through the depths of my heart
I knew once ashes fell
your past was gone, and our new start
Breaths visible as we speak quietly
passion grew, love too, silently
Those papers, burned, buried
eternally gone in the fire
Now it's us, our only desire
