Midnight
Your eyes, filled with fire, rage towards me as our hands entangle into one. My heart beating with the sudden sense of not being alone. Your heart pounding through your fingers and into mine. The warm embrace of our bodies close and our minds closer. As the fog creeps nearer, so do we. The silent of the night makes being with you better. When the night crawls closer and the fire is at our heels, you grab my waist and say your goodbyes. Looking into my eyes, you move farther into my face. You repeat, for the last time, "I love you" and seal it with a kiss. Furiously, you dart off into the darkness without me. Soon enough, all that is left of that night is a single memory and the replay of the words repeating in my head. I whisper a soft breath of my reply to your words. "I love you, too." It's too late, the one I now love is already gone.
