As everyone else seems to, I enjoyed the North Star reference. I liked it because, though some of your other comparisons were coloquial, it was a bit out of the box (Ha, see what I did there? I'm such a hypocrite).
As Chaotic pointed out, omit that "s" from "mines". Other than that, I can't find any spelling or grammatical mistakes.
I enjoyed it, though it's a common topic. 4/5 because you got bonus points for getting interesting with them stars XD
