Deep Breath
Diving into the freezing cold water
With my heavy fall clothes
I sink to the bottom…
I lie flat on tiled pool floor
And look up
I can see the world above
Swirled around from the slowly moving water
The dead trees looming over me with their haunting branches…
Watching
Crows fly above
The scavenger black bird waiting for prey
The sky above is grayish blue
With slits of sunlight coming through
My blonde hair floats around my pale face and sunken in cheeks
I close my blood-shot eyes
Wondering how long I can last
How much more I can take
I finally let go
I take a deep breath…and I’m gone
