You Are
You’re the brightest star
that lays atop
the blackest night.
The moon guiding
the angels shadows,
capturing memories.
You’re the sun
blinding my vision.
You’re the storm
The thunder.
The lightning.
The rainbow after
the depressed rain,
that clashes carelessly
on my pale freckled skin.
The acid that burns
through my veins
eating at my emotions,
endlessly.
You’re the ocean water
beautiful but brutal.
The shells and sand
that sleep silently on shore.
The clouds that embrace
the sky that hovers above
the powerful waves.
You’re the Tennessee mountains,
rigid and bumpy.
You’re truly lovely.
Honestly deceiving.
You’re the powdery white snow that
clutches the tips of the rocks.
You’re the never ending river,
flowing downhill with reckless rapids
and a cooling kiss of relaxation.
You’re the resplendent trees
that give me life.
The long green feathers
attached to the thick
chocolate wood,
towering over the thin strands
of evergreen grass.
You’re the world’s best and worse
You’re my best and worse.
You’re my world.
