The Wood Nymph
Feminine, beautiful, earthen
The wood nymph sits high upon a tree
Overlooking a near, yet distant city
Industrialization overshadowing nature
The smog sickens the woodlands
Emerald tears fall from her eyes
Archaic wishes fill her mind
“Why did they abandon nature?”
She wept as so little trees were seen
Humanity left nature
and all that is left
is a weeping forest
and a lone, weeping nymph.
