Look At You Now!
Look at you!
You walk, you fall,
You stumble and crawl…
As if I can’t see what your eyes are trying to tell me,
So sore, they beg to be forgiven.
So why do you cry these dry tears that no one can see?
Trying to control these uncontrollable feelings,
The pain and sorrow that sits deep inside your throat and chest…
Not wanting anyone to see you at your weakest point.
You stand tall; pretending like it doesn’t bother you,
Like it doesn’t affect you…
But deep down, you know you suffer from it the most…
We have all been down this road before…
We’ve been down it together…
Bruised and scared
We pray with tears in our eyes…
Scars that have been worn for too long,
Curses that haunt us to this very day…
Still our heart cries that unknown sound.
The shadows from the past haunt you.
They haunt you to this very day.
You think about it, you dream about it,
No one will ever truly know…
If with every step I take I could hold your hand,
I’d never let you down, never let you go.
Whenever you decide to open your eyes,
You’ll see me there right next to you.
Whenever you decide to let your feelings go,
I’ll be your shoulder to cry on.
But you’re blinded.
You keep your eyes closed, not wanting anyone to see.
If I could open your eyes,
I’d make you see what I see,
If life is not the fight you imagined it would be,
You would breathe in what I breathe in,
Instead of suffocating under the dim light.
You think there is more to life that what you have already lived?
Look at me. Think of me as your mirror.
Look at me today, see the scars and bruises that I have,
That we share and use it keep you going tomorrow.
Live a little more each day, instead of hiding yourself,
And keeping yourself locked away.
Live more each day, so I will have a story to tell.
A story to tell about a girl and her troubles and past mistakes.

They say that good things take time, but really great things happen in the blink of an eye
