Broken Ice
It seems like there is a new crack with each step I take.
The ice is shattering beneath my feet.
Your presence is causing the fragile layer to break even more.
My apologies have passed right by you and fallen into the sub-zero waters between us.
As I gingerly walk across the frozen water I hear them snapping. Not from my weight, but from the weight of the pressure.
The pressure you put on me.
As we try to reach each other the ice cracks more and more. And there is nothing we can do.
