Autumn Leaves
Remember when the leaves changed colors
On those cool fall nights
Three children laughed and played
Racing under bright street lights
Remember when the leaves changed colors
And sweaters came, but were never on
The crisp air bit their noses
But they didn’t mind
Remember when the leaves changed colors
And they took refuge in the trees
They could have stayed up there forever
Giggles, laughs, and teases
Remember when the leaves changed colors
And their shoes stayed inside
Numb feet jumped and ran
Of course, they didn’t mind
Remember when the leaves changed colors
And they flew across wet grass
Making up games as they went along
Seeing which one was faster
Remember when the leaves changed colors
On those cool fall nights
We, the children of the neighborhood, laughed and played
Racing under bright street lights
