You Won the Fight, I Won the War
I still lie awake at night
Going through all the memories
Trying to grasp the concept
That you really do hate me
The name calling
The teasing
The dirty looks
The whispering
It hurt so bad
Those things I will remember forever
Coming home crying
Not being able to sleep
You won the fight
I was hurt.
I was sad.
I was depressed
But through all this
I got stronger
I believed in myself more
I was able to thank you
For all the terrible things you did
I came out on top
I won the war.
