fake flames
The people they march,
one by one down the halls.
The dark, stained ceiling was only a blur.
That was when I first saw you,
the black of your dyed to many times hair eluded a scared grace.
I think I fell in love, just then, in that small moment.
The pastel people, they laughed.
With there perfectly braced smiles,
you understand my depths.
The woolen ideas of my hazed mind.
Our eyes met,
yours amber, mine blue.
the world was set aflame.
burning away all the things we both hate.
