Police Corruption

Listen to the police, they only do what is right.
Not one has ever smuggled drugs into our streets at night.
They do not lie nor hurt, no, not the cops.
They would never beat a black man because he j-walks.
They are here for protection and to sustain peace.
They wouldn’t lie or steal, not the police.

Listen if you choose, but what I speak is knowledge.
Officers don’t systematically pepper spray kids peacefully protesting at college.
You know they wouldn’t do this, not the people wearing blue.
Actually they would, each previous statement was true.

Every occurrence I’ve stated is a part of history.
Connecticut officers really did help smuggle in oxycodene.
A man did get beat down because he j-walked.
It was done by two cops and the victims name is Tupac.

A college named UC Davis you all must have heard.
Where the teens were pepper sprayed for expressing their words.
Every day on the news I hear of another event.
Where police are corrupt, yet they feel no repent.

I thought it spoke the truth and the last line in the 2nd stanza was a great way to transition into the next part :) good work!

im not trying to be offensive. I just used actual occurances to write a satirical poem. and it couldnt be offensive because these things are true and a part of our history. Why should we hide what these policemen are doing or have done

Yeah, I saw the news, police touring, but I'm not that against them only because my grandmother is a police, I really like the truth in your words, it's not the police, it's the person who is playing and what they have in their hearts !

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit. <br /> -Harry S. Truman

This is a good poem but offensive. My entire family is police officers. Put yourself in their shoes.

Well done! I've heard of all these events! I love how you managed to informatively get your message across while rhyming! I mean.. You rhymed "oxycodene" that's a feat in itself!
